James Dunham Miller

About

James was born in Boston, Mass. Dec. 22, 1954. He lived in Needham, Mass thru 1st grade. Moved to Marietta, Ohio before 2nd grade. Moved to Moon, outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. in 10th grade. He attended Penn State University 1973-78. Married Beth Anderson when he was 29. They had met while working at MSA. Had Sarah when he was 30.

Jim began painting early in life. His first oil painting being of a Rainbow trout rising out of the water (while Robert was painting a Moose).

He didn't really begin painting til he was in college as a freshman where he took 2 painting courses.

He graduated in Biology in 77, and went back to Penn State for another year studying Computer Science.

He worked at MSA for 20 years as a programmer. Then several other programming jobs.

He painted very little during that time, but did some paintings here and there for a time.

In 2010 he retired from full time programming and started painting again while also working on his website - Structurally Sound Software Solutions, and also Jet Inventory. (He also spent a lot of time Refereeing - Soccer, Basketball, and Softball).

James is a Christian.

He enjoys playing the piano, reading the Bible, fishing, refereeing, etc..

He has two beautiful grand children, Briggs and Sage. Four siblings, Sue, Bob, Betsy, Stu. Several other relatives, neices, and nephews.

Clouds have been his focal point for a while. Along with portraits, landscapes, sinks, and a few semi-abstract biblical sceens.
